Colorado Fall Foliage - Ferrin Photo

Colorado Fall Foliage

September 17th, 2018

Fall colors have finally arrived!

I love heading to the mountains to capture the changing of the leaves each year. One of the biggest challenges I have encountered is trying to capture a different photo from previous years. What helps me though is that the weather is very unpredictable this time of year making each fall trip potentially different. This year, most of the photos below were taken in 80 degree temperatures. In past years, I've encountered rain, snow, freezing temperatures and even missed the "peak" color change once.

This years photos were all taken along Guanella Pass. The original plan was to head to Kenosha Pass, but the amount of traffic we encountered made us change our mind's fairly quickly. Most of the aspen's are located on the north side of the pass, but even the alpine shrubs at the base of Mt. Bierstadt had golden leaves.

Sometimes looking up or behind you provides a beautiful photo ready to be captured. I've even tried shooting between my legs, but that has yet to yield a good photo!

Feel free to share, like, or comment. I'd love to hear from you!
